I spent two restless weeks in Peru spanning Lima, Huacachina, Nazca, Cuzco, Puno (Lake Titicaca) and Machu Picchu. Equally an attraction, to my surprise, were the Peruvians, which are without a doubt the friendliest people collectively that I have encountered in 35+ countries of travel. Also, their syncretic culture – melding indigenous and Western spirituality, embracing the traditional and modern ways – is truly an inspiration and the reason I chose Lady Gaga’s “Judas” for the soundtrack.
